I have just finished a preliminary contribution for the discussion
on top-level categories. It has the form of an extended abstract submitted
to the AAAI symposium on ontological engineering planned for the next
March. You can retrieve the gzipped postscript file from the WWW site
reported below (clicking on "papers"). The next step will be a detailed
discussion of the ontological distinctions proposed in John's book,
together with a rearrengement proposal for the top-level of the reference
ontology.
